Brain Tumor Cases in Southern California

There are many types of brain tumors, both malignant and benign.  Whether the tumor is cancerous or benign, the condition is dangerous for the patient, and the immediate and careful treatment of the tumor should be determined at once by the medical team at Southern California Center for Neuroscience and Spine at Chapman Medical Center.  Some brain tumors can be a primary condition, or begin in the brain while others are the result of cancer that has spread in the body (malignant brain tumors - secondary or termed "metastatic").

The symptom of the patient can include dizziness, vision problems, severe headaches, confusion, lack of balance, nausea or vomiting, cognitive problems and other indicators that lead to testing to determine if a brain tumor is present.  The testing may include MRI or CT scan as well as others.  When the location and type of tumor is identified, a treatment plan will be immediately determined to assist the patient in attempting to remove or reduce the tumor.

Depending upon the type of brain tumor that is found, there are a variety of treatments that could be used in order to attempt to shrink the tumor.  Surgical procedures may be used in some cases.  The type of brain tumor and its rate of growth will be part of diagnosis that will determine what treatment will be used to address the condition.
